
Yay!!! It’s that time of the year again when we raid our closets, our mums and mother in laws closets and don’t even spare our friends’ for that matter. We need those antique pieces of jewelry, we need those silk sarees and we need that latest shade of nail paint and lipstick. It’s the wedding season! If you are the one getting hitched or are the bride or groom’s friend, you need to look like a million bucks. But, what you need most is to get in shape. Now how would that happen? Definitely not by sitting and thinking about it over a tub of ice-cream or that cheesecake platter. You need to move that butt and you need to shake those limbs. If you are not already a workout fanatic, it is time for you to break a sweat. You can select the weapon of your choice to attack those flabs of yours. It could be either be Zumba or Pilates, Belly Dancing or Aerobics, or the good old gym.
It’s also the time to exercise those fingers and go on a little shopping spree. We don’t need an excuse to shop and this time it is the need of the hour. You cannot go to the gym wearing your night suit or those tattered and frayed at the hem pyjamas. What you wear is how you feel and going to the gym or any other form of exercise class means you will be stepping out of the house. You will be meeting many new people and some known ones too. You would want to present a good picture of yours in front of them. After all, it’s the wedding season and everyone is in a good dressing mood already. Time to go on a complete overhaul of your activewear.
#Choose according to the workout
Workout activities like Yoga and Pilates need light impact activity workout wear. The workout dresses for them include a sports bra, (this one you cannot compromise on in any workout activity), tops and bottom that are not completely sticking to the skin as you need to feel light while you concentrate on your breathing: an integral part of these workouts. High impact activities like cross-fit training, weight training, Zumba or Aerobics need workout wear that is breathable, as you will be sweating like crazy and it should be of a good fit. When you workout, a well-fitted gym wear ensures that you can see your problem areas clearly and get motivated to work on them a little harder. If you have been working out for a while, you can simply pair a chic co-ordinated perfectly fitted sports bra over a pair of leggings.
#Colors do matter
Wearing a bright colored legging and neon colored sports bra is sure to get you a little peppy and help you in shaking away those gym blues. A pop of color should always be paired with a neutral color. You don’t want to look like a candy that is out for a workout! Black makes you look thinner and toned for sure and can be preferred for days when you are planning on posting some pre, post and mid-workout pictures on Instagram. You can go the all black way for a perfectly chiseled body look. For a trendier look, go for mesh leggings to show off those perfect legs. Neighbour’s envy and owners pride, right? If you are going in for a geometric or whacky pattern, make sure you keep it to only either the T-shirt or the leggings, and not in both.
