For me, pizza is one of the best food discoveries on the earth and I’m a huge pizza fan, but I do eat it responsibly. If you get the pizza base done with more healthy options, you wouldn’t really have to worry so much about the health nutrition facts. Whole wheat, multigrain flour base pizza can be a great replacement for the regular refined flour ones. However, calories would still be there. Adding extra cheese and choosing your right toppings determine the number of calories you consume in a single slice. However, the regular pizza base with extra cheese and other wide range of toppings can contribute to extra calorie overdose which is anyway associated with numerous health drawbacks. Now, pizza can be more convenient and less effort consuming to eat and even prepare. It takes less time to cook or ordering your pizza which can make you lazy which ultimately makes you obese.

Pizza is one of those foods who are high on glycemic index which triggers to make you eat more and more which definitely is going to make you gain weight. Plus, pizzas are high in saturated fats, sugar, and carbohydrates which can increase your weight over a period of time when you eat in on a regular basis. Weight gain is associated with the risks of developing inflammation and chronic disease as well which is one of the dangerous disadvantages of pizza.
3. Constipation
Foods that contain saturated fat which is a digestion slowing fat and dehydrating salt leads to chronic constipation. Another true pizza disadvantage is carbohydrates present in pizzas are ultimately going to be converted to sugar or say glucose. In addition to that, pizza is full of empty calories as it is prepared with yeast to make the base softer, and yeast get activated by feeding on sugar. These sugars directly spike your blood sugar levels leading to diabetes or pre-diabetic condition.
